Hi, I’m Jewell

I am a designer and photographer based in North Carolina.

But wait, there’s more.

I constantly flow between many different roles.

You can find me designing album or product packaging, taking photos for an upcoming launch, or laying out a marketing postcard or website for a local business. Sometimes the project-of-the-day is taking photos alongside my photographer husband at a show or event. Some days I’m a PTA mom designing school shirts for a fundraiser, or cheering on the sidelines at a flag football game. Each day offers a different task, a new challenge - a fresh opportunity!

Education

  • Interdisciplinary Studies in Society & Culture with a focus in Advertising.
    & an unofficial minor in Atlanta. :)

  • Studied Art Direction & Graphic Design in South Beach, with quarter-away internship experiences in New York City & San Francisco

  • Willa Breez & Julien Maze, my two heartbeats born at home in the water, are continually teaching me new ideas, and causing me to expand my knowledge of communication and relationship skills.

  • When I was homeschooling my daughter we used a curriculum called “Earth Schooling” and the idea, even without the ‘curriculum’ has stuck with me as a human on this planet, always looking, listening, and learning - consciously and subconsciously. I am a lifelong student.

Interests

  • Fun fact: I drew up plans for a 2-story addition to my parents home where the garage was to make a multi-generational home base for my family - take a look on instagram: @theunitbproject

  • My saved hashtags look something like #housegoals #modernhomes #midcenturymodern - I’m a big fan of interior design plus the photography too!

  • I got licensed to sell real estate in 2017 and keep it current to dip into a few deals from time to time! I love watching to see what new gems come up for sale on the market.

  • I’m getting better at houseplants - and the outdoor garden has its moments. Aromatic trees and flowers really are something I love, and cacti and succulents are my favs. Also, I’m a big fan of the beach and the mountains, and feel lucky I’m in North Carolina where I can take road trips to both!
